Executive Coaching
Executive coaching is being increasingly seen as one of the most effective ways to enhance the skills and leadership behaviours of senior executives. QED Consulting’s Senior Executive Coaching Programme involves a series of one on one sessions. The coaching sessions focus on and work through a range of identified issues, helping individuals to overcome specific barriers in their current role, develop new skills and to build confidence.
A typical coaching programme consists of 6, two hourly sessions at regular intervals (approx. every 2 – 3 weeks), in the office or off-site. To help develop and enhance the performance of key personnel our programmes are tailored to the needs of the individual and the organisation. The focus is not on learning, although learning invariably takes place, but on "doing". It is about changing behaviours and attitudes to achieve desired results. This is a powerful action centred approach to coaching, with the client required to make commitments at each session, to do something that will stretch them before the next one. Our approach at QED Consulting is to ensure each coaching client has a sponsor, who helps us to establish the business objectives that are to be focused on throughout the programme. As coaches we also work with the client to establish their own personal development needs and objectives. We then work together with the client to ultimately align the two sets of objectives and ensure that they are achieved.
Our experienced business coaches, many of whom are also Occupational Psychologists, establish a mind-set of expectancy and confidence and fulfil the role of adviser and motivator and (as reported by clients!) conscience. A failure to deliver an expected result is an opportunity to try again, not to give up!
